Berkeley High School 1984 Mens Crew

The Berkeley High Men's Crew team after long discussion with the school has agreed to represent the high school for another year under the direction of University of California Light Weight Crew Coach Vince Horpel.

Coach Horpel has developed a Varsity boat that he hopes will do as well as last year's Varsity boat, which won not only the Californian Championship, but the Western Coast Championship. This year Coach Horpel has managed to coach both the California Light Weights and Berkeley High's Crew Team at the same time. This gives Berkeley High extra experience and knowledge: a decisive edge on all of its competitors. This edge is proven since Berkeley High's Crew team swept all of the events it entered during the Los Gatos/Oakland Stroke race.

Coach Horpel says the up and coming races are the most important to prepare the BHS team for the Nationals which he wishes to win this year.
