Photo courtesy of Mike GillThe 2009-2010 Ergathon fundraiser came to an official close on Saturday, February 6th, when the team gathered in the BHS library to write their thank you letters to all who contributed. By all measures, this year was a total success, as contributions were up almost 20% over last year, even during these difficult economic times!
This year's success was due to both the persistence of the team and the generosity of family, friends and acquaintances like you who gave to the team. Thank you so much!
Much credit – and appreciation from all of us – goes to Ken Bowers, who organized and oversaw every detail. A board member and busy parent-volunteer, Ken stepped in as head of the Ergathon this year and quickly mastered the job. Thank you, Ken!
Funds raised will go toward many important crew activities, including rower scholarships and rent for the boathouse at JLAC. The number of rower scholarships is rising as times get tough. BHS Crew works hard to ensure that the cost of the sport doesn't prevent any BHS student who wants to row from coming out and rowing for the team. Again, on behalf of the rowers and all of us, thank you so much for your generosity!
