Taking BART to JLAC
Cost - $1.15
- In the Berkeley BART Station ~
- Buy a ticket to Lake Merritt
- At a turnstile
- Insert your ticket
- Go through
- Get your ticket back
- At the platform
- Stand on the side where the overhead signs say Fremont
- When a train comes
- Look at the flashing signs overhead. If they
say Fremont, get on the train
- Get off the train at Lake Merritt ~
- Check the station signs at each station, listen to the
conductor at the stations
- Station signs are on the walls, or hanging from
the ceilings, a bit above head level
- You’re looking for, listening for, Lake Merritt
- In the Lake Merritt Station ~
- Go upstairs
- Look for the station master’s booth
- Go out the turnstile next to the station master’s booth.
(If you bought a ticket for $1.15,
you won't get it back – it’s used up…)
- Turn to your left – the wall you see has a tile design
that says Laney College
- Walk towards the wall till you see the stairs on your
right
- Go up the stairs
- Walking from the station to JLAC ~
- When you get outside, turn left till you see the Hometown
Donuts sign
- Walk in the direction of Hometown donuts.
- After 5-7 blocks, you’ll cross the railroad tracks
- After the railroad tracks, the road curves left
- After about 1 more block, you’ll see JLAC on your left
