Ergathon letters out - thanks to a successful day of letter-writing

Saturday, October 31st was the date of this year's Ergathon letter-writing campaign. Team members wrote to family and friends asking for contributions to Berkeley High Crew and urging supporters to come watch the team train at the upcoming fundraising event, December 5th, on 4th Street in Berkeley.
Once again, the athletes of Berkeley High Crew piled into the BHS Library after their Saturday morning practice to carry out the team's most important fundraising effort, its annual Ergathon letter-writing campaign. This year, a generous crew family raised the ante by offering iTunes cards to rowers who sent more than 30 letters. At last count, 40 qualified!
To make donating easier, we have arranged with PayPal to accept online payments using a credit card or a PayPal account. To add your Ergathon pledge, simply click the "Donate" button at right. And please -- when you get to the Review Donation page, click on the 'Rower Name' link and add the name of the rower you are sponsoring!
Ruthlessly hitting up loved ones and acquaintances for money -- even for such a good cause -- is difficult and draining. Responding positively is equally tough, especially in hard financial times like these. Yet, so many of the recipients of those letters will come through for BHS Crew. Out of gratitude, we say "Come on down to 4th Street on December 5th and support the Jackets! Let us show you our love."
