HIGH SCHOOL Rowers of all grades are invited to attend a college recruiting information session at the Jack London Aquatic Center. Learn about the recruiting process and how you join a college rowing team.
Topics covered:
Overview of NCAA rules & terms
Overview of scholarships & financial aid
How “self directed” recruiting increases your chances for gaining admission
Finding a school that fits your academic/athletic/lifestyle concerns
Understanding the differences between NCAA Division I, II and III
How Academics effect admissions – Testing and Grades
Time commitment and overall expectations for participation on a college team
Parent’s roles and responsibilities
Question & Answer period

College Rowing Coach for 18 years: University of Washington, Boston University, Harvard University, MIT, University of California at Berkeley
Executive Director of the George Pocock Rowing Foundation for 10 years
Member of USRowing’s High Performance Committee for the 4 years leading up to Athens Olympics
Former international competitor (both sweep and sculling) at the World Championships, Pan American Games and the 1984 Olympics
Seating is limited and is on a first come first served basis

**I will refund the admission to any family that feels they didn’t get the information that they need to start their college search**
(The afternoon session on the same day is only open to rising seniors due to NCAA rules – explained at this session)
